Subradiant edge states in an atom chain with waveguide-mediated hopping

We analyze the topological and dynamical properties of a system formed by two chains identical emitters coupled to waveguide, whose guided modes induce all-to-all excitation hopping. find that, in single limit, bulk Hamiltonian that describes coherent dynamics are ones one-dimensional Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model. However, due long-range character exchange interactions, we weakening bulk-boundary correspondence. This is illustrated variation localization length mass gap edge states encountered as vary lattice constant offset between chains. Most interestingly, analytically identify parameter regimes where arise which fully localized boundaries chain, independently size. These shown be not only robust against positional disorder atoms but also subradiant, i.e., dynamically stable even presence inevitable dissipation processes, establishing capacity waveguide QED systems for realization symmetry protected phases.
